Sturgeon fishing in the Columbia river over the weekend was fair.
Shad fishing was slow even though you could get some for bate.
Salmon fishing on the Columbia river will open up June 22.
There are about a 1000 salmon a day going over the dam.
this is a good time to do a half day salmon and a half day of sturgeon fishing.

Hey everyone. Went out with Marvin Henkel on Thursday below Bonneville with a couple guys from Witchita, Kansas here on business – both named Zach! FIshing was slow but Marvin’s boat was the only one we saw that both caught shad (and a chinook salmon released) and four sturgeon – one only 2 inches shy of keeping!
But we had fresh omeletes for brunch and sauteed shad roe with mushrooms and fresh butter. . .MMMM!!
Marvin’s a passionate fisherman! Can’t wait to fish again!
The omeletes were great! thank you Grant.
Salmon fishing opens Monday maybe I will see you next week.

We fished with Marvin on Thursday as Grant mentioned above. The fishing was fun even though it was slow, and Marvin was able to put us on fish when no one else was catching any. The company was great and the food was incredible! I’ll be back for certain! Hopefully Grant will be on the boat to cook!
Hey Zach, Thank you for everything.
Maybe next time I will see you for salmon fishing.
It was great to have you on the Boat.
This was my first time to fish on the Columbia River and certainly won’t be my last! Marvin is a wonderful guide and made me feel completely at home. Not only were we the only one’s catching anything but i’m pretty sure we were the only boat with fresh Omeletes for breakfast!!!! (Thanks Grant) Fishing with Marvin was a great experience and I would recommend him to beginners and seasoned fisherman alike!! Thanks again Marvin!!
