King salmon fishing in Tillamook Bay, Oregon, starts in September, and fishing and crabbing continue through the end of October. The bay is known for its sizable salmon. Additionally, the crab fishing here is excellent.
Where can I launch a boat in Tillamook Bay?
The main boat ramp for the bay is Garibaldi Marina. click here for directions to the marina,
Crabbing Tillamook.
My routine includes setting crab pots early in the morning prior to salmon fishing. I place them along the jetty or within the designated crab harbor. Throughout the day, I return several times to refresh the bait and collect the crabs.
What kind of salmon live in the bay?
Both Chinook and Coho salmon can be caught in Tillamook Bay, where the fish are exceptionally fresh, having just come from the ocean. A popular spot for salmon fishing is right at the bay’s mouth. I prefer to troll using cut plug herring and whole herring. Often, I’ll also employ a spinner and a flasher as bait.

My wife and I will be on the coast the week of the 7th of Sept and the 9th is our only day we could do a fishing trip. Tillamook Bay would work best for us but if better fishing is elsewhere that would be ok too. Are you available on the 9th?
