Columbia river sturgeon fishing for the next 4 days. I have a group of 4 people that booked with me for four days.
The first day was June 22nd we started fishing on the Columbia river at 6am. As the day went on we caught 16 or 17 small sturgeon and 1 keeper.
But on the Columbia river you can only keep sturgeon Thursday, Friday and Saturday So that 45 inch fish got to go back in the water. Also we landed about a 9 foot sturgeon.
Day2 on the Columbia river-
What a nice morning it was no wind sun was shining. We left the dock at about 5 am this morning. Fishing in the morning was a lot slower than yesterday.
Although we caught a few small sturgeon and then finally around noon we got a big one on. 55 Minutes later we had it to the boat! This sturgeon was about 8 foot not a bad sturgeon.
Then we caught a few more small sturgeon then we decided to call it a day.
I will report back about day 3 and day 4 as soon as I can.
Have a great day.

Our four days fishing with Marvin were great. I can’t recall the details of each day, but we had over 60 small sturgeon total with 5 oversize coming to the boat. If you’ve never hung into one of these big fish, you have to give it a try! We really enjoyed the fishing, the beautiful scenery, and Marvin was an excellent guide. We appreciated his efforts in getting us on the fish and his laid-back style made for a great time. The only bad part of the trip was the aftertaste of squid in my mouth after biting off the head of the squid for good luck. We’ve been watching too much “Deadliest Catch” on Discovery.
