fishing Sturgeon is only catch and release on Sunday, although you are allowed to keep them Thursday through Saturday. I had 3 guys that wanted to do catch and release today.
We fished on the Willamette River and Today was kind of cold and wet. But it was nice with the top and the heater on. We had a pretty good day of sturgeon fishing.
We caught Sturgeon that range from 20-49 inches. Too bad we couldn’t keep half of those today. It was still fun, and all 3 buddies had a great time. I look forward to Seeing them again soon!

Fishing Sturgeon is strictly catch and release 7 days a week. Although we do get a small season in January in the Bonneville pool to keep sturgeon in 2024.
Bonneville pool is located above Bonneville Dam. This season is set by Oregon and Washington Fish and Wildlife and is set with a quota of 640 fish. So generally, sturgeon season won’t last long.
One of my favorite marinas to use when I’m fishing for sturgeon in January is located in Hood River, OR.
Catch and release sturgeon offers plenty of action for the whole family with sturgeon ranging between four and 10 feet long.
